Anacostia Park seeks Full-Time Seasonal Park Guide
This is a full time, temporary, GS-5 position beginning in May with a possible end date at end of October, however there is a possibility for extension but no guarantee.
This position will provide applicants with the opportunity and experience of engaging people through recreation and education. The Park Guides will work directly with the Anacostia Community Corps in staffing the centerpiece building of the park, the Anacostia Park Roller Skating Pavilion, during the summer months. Duties to include distributing free skates to visitors, staffing special events, bike patrols along the Anacostia River, informal educational programs with summer camps and the Student Conservation Association, and developing social media content.
This is not only an opportunity to provide a fun experience for visitors and families alike, but also a way to engage with community and build relationships. In addition to working in Anacostia Park, staff may be asked to support operations at the Fort Dupont Community Garden and Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens as needed.
